When Do You Level Up?
- Level up when the GM declares a story milestone (roughly every 3 sessions). The whole party levels together (no XP grind).
- Daggerheart has 10 levels grouped into 4 . New tier kicks in at levels 2, 5, and 8.

Level-Up Steps
- Tier Achievements – If you just entered a new tier (levels 2, 5, or 8):
- Level 2: Gain a new Experience (+2) and +1 Proficiency.
- Level 5: Gain a new Experience (+2), +1 Proficiency, and clear all marked traits.
- Level 8: Gain a new Experience (+2), +1 Proficiency, and clear all marked traits.
- Advancements – Pick any 2 upgrades from your tier or below (your level-up perks):
- Increase two different traits by +1 each (can’t boost them again until next tier).
- Add 1 Hit Point slot (fill in the next HP box on your sheet).
- Add 1 Stress slot (fill in the next stress box).
- Increase two of your Experiences by +1 .
- Gain a new domain card (ability) from your class (level ≤ your current level).
- +1 Evasion (permanently).
- Upgrade your subclass: take the next subclass card (specialization → mastery).
- +1 Proficiency (costs both picks; adds an extra weapon damage die).
- Multiclass (costs both picks; choose a new class domain and get its foundation card).
- Damage Thresholds – Increase all your damage thresholds by +1 (you’re a bit tougher now).
- Domain Card – Gain one new domain card at your new level (or lower) from your class and add it to your loadout or . (Swap out a card if your loadout is full.)
Bonus: Leveling Up on Demiplane
- Open your character on the Daggerheart Nexus (Demiplane’s digital character tool).
- Click the option to increase your character’s level (the Level Up button or level selector).
- Follow the prompts: apply any tier bonuses, pick your two advancements, update thresholds, and add your new card.
- Save your character. That’s it; leveled up!
